C.B. Pearson for Montana Senate District 46
Why I'm running
I believe SD 46 deserves strong representation from someone who knows the district and has a solid track record of fighting for the public interest.
For 45 years—as either the lead staff person, a consultant and a volunteer—I have fought for the public interest.
I want to use this experience and knowledge to be a strong, skilled advocate for Montana, and for you. I feel the urgency of being involved at this level given the rapid change and threats to our state and our community.
I am a strong conservationist, with a Masters of Science from the University of Montana in Environmental Studies. My undergraduate degree is also in Environmental Studies from the University of Northern Colorado.
I have been a key advocate fighting Citizen United, Big Money in Politics, and advocating for Montana’s direct democracy initiative and referendum constitutional protected power.
I have fought the influence of big tobacco for 35 years, and helped establish Montana’s Clean Indoor Air Act.
I have worked as a public interest advocate for nonprofits throughout the country— leading, training and managing local, state and national campaigns for the environment, public health, campaign finance and consumer protections.
Our state and country face a serious threat from the extreme right and from those corporations who do not care about our clean air, clean water and our public lands. Together they seek to intrude in how we live, who we love and how our democracy works.
I have built bipartisan campaigns at the federal, state and local level for strong public interest policy. I have fought the special economic interests and won. I will bring that same tenacity to the Montana Senate to address clean water & air, housing, taxes, good government, public education, and aging issues.
I have the skills, experience and drive to fight for our Montana.
I would appreciate your support.
